VOOR 2024: A Year Full of Highlights and Progress
2024 was an exciting year for VOOR! With a lot of commitment and a clear focus on networking and growth, we opened new opportunities in Europe and beyond. Here’s our annual review, capturing the most exciting moments.
Kick-Off in Leipzig: A Perfect Start
We kicked off the year with our KickOff Party in January at the Leipzig ImpactHub. Around 150 guests from sports clubs, associations, the start-up scene, politics, and economic development joined us. As the main organizer, we created a platform for exchanging ideas and building new connections.
What stood out: The event highlighted the incredible potential and innovative spirit in Saxony. It laid the foundation for key partnerships that carried us through the year.
Partnerships: Strong Connections, Significant Growth
Our partnerships were a cornerstone of our success in 2024. Collaborations with ATHLYZER, uhlsport, the Football FLOW Academy, S&B Sports, and others allowed us to expand our network and enhance our offerings. These partnerships helped us reach new audiences and develop innovative solutions for the sports world.
Team Growth: New Talents on Board
Our team also saw significant growth. We filled key positions and expanded our presence with a dedicated team in Serbia. We are particularly proud of establishing a base at the Impact Hub in Belgrade. The team focused on conquering the Serbian market and driving our expansion in Southeast Europe. This region, with a strong emphasis on football and growing interest in other sports, became a highlight of our growth story this year.
September Relaunch: A Fresh Start
One of the biggest milestones was our relaunch on September 15. After months of preparation, we unveiled a completely revamped platform.
VOOR transformed into more of a community app with chat and team functionalities.
Users can create their own communities and connect globally across sports.
Handball was added as a new sport.
These new features made our platform more versatile and helped drive a major boom in Serbia and other countries like Bulgaria and Croatia. The enthusiasm from our community confirms we are on the right path.
Africa in Focus: Journey to the African Tech Festival
In November, we ventured into a new continent. At the African Tech Festival, we built a network and explored opportunities to enter African markets. The energy and potential on the ground inspired us, and we’re excited about the next steps.
Looking Back and Ahead
2024 showed us what is possible when passion and teamwork come together. We’ve made big strides not only as a platform but also as a community. Sport connects people – and VOOR demonstrates how to harness this power to bring people together worldwide.
With this momentum, we look forward to 2025. Together with our community, we aim to achieve the next milestones and continue shaping the future of sports. We can’t wait for what’s next!
